A Complete Backyard Design

 

The Backyard Space:

Backyard is flat directly behind house.  The property lines on all sides have a dramatic elevation change. Property lines are only a few feet away from house. No major utility issues.

Client’s Wish List:

Paver patio with grill area and dining area.  Access to the backyard from the patio for children to play and for the dog.  Landscape the perimeter of the patio with colorful plants.

The Landscape Design:

The paver patio sits directly behind and against the house.  The area between the french door and the side of the house lacks enough space to create any major room without dramatically changing the landscape with retention. The area will be used for the kitchen and grilling area.

The Hardscape Material and Plants:

We used Techo Bloc Athena in Chocolate Brown for the pavers.  The steps were made of decorative concrete in Walnut color, which matches the color of the pavers.  The planting material include Knockout Roses, Azalea’s, Astilbe, Lilyturf, Ornamental Grass and Burning Bush.
